PROPOSED FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Founded in 2004, the Culinary Arts Academy (MSA) is pointed out among the best culinary schools in the world. Besides being a private school accredited by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey, it is the only school in Turkey being accredited by City & Guilds, which is one of the world's largest accreditation bodies on vocational training, as well as Pearson International, Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) and Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH). In 2011, the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) recognised and honored MSA with “Award for Highest Quality in Culinary Education”. In the MSA campus, you can find, "Food and Beverage Themed Expertise & Rare Books Library", a thematic museum with a special collection on food & beverage history. Last year MSA undertook the Ministry of Foreign Affairs luncheon during the G20 event, represented Turkish Cuisine in the Turkish pavilion during a 2-week programme, took part in sectoral events such as Slow Olive in Ayvalık, ‘Discover Your Food’ in Istanbul, and Cappadox. Last April, MSA was in Hong Kong’s respected tourism and hospitality school VTC, to deliver Turkish Cuisine classes to 200 VTC students. In September 2016, MSA will be one of the speakers at the World Association of Chefs Societies Conference to be held in Thessaloniki. MSA passionately continues to educate fully equipped professionals in both tourism and catering sectors as well as supporting the activities promoting Turkish Cuisine at home and abroad.

  • The fellow will be responsible for following the MSA culinary curriculum, assisting professional instructor chefs in the class and preparing the academic content.
  • The fellow will create Armenian dishes, provide information and training on Armenian cuisine to MSA instructor chefs as needed.
  • The fellow will support MSA chef instructor team as needed.
  • The fellow will help with the translation and interpretation of ancient Armenian culinary books.

EXPECTED PROFILE 

  • A professional chef working in the culinary industry.
  • Good command of English.
  • Teaching experience will be an advantage.
  • 30-55 years of age.

CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Fellowship activity days: Monday-Friday, 9.00-18.00

The fellow may be requested to assist MSA activities during some weekends, if needed.
