PROPOSED FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Applicants will make research or publish book, paper etc. MA in Peace and Conflict Studies is designed to provide academicians, freelancers or students with a broad analytical perspective in the major fields of peace and conflict studies, combined with a specific focus on the newly emerging issues of governance and globalization. By underlining updated knowledge and skills essential to careers in international, private, and public sectors, the department responds to new professional opportunities at home as well as abroad. 

You are strongly offered to choose any options as a student, activist, freelancer, diplomat, peace volunteer, security officers etc.

Option 1: Non-Degree Student 

  • ASBÜ accepts tuition paying exchange students who wish to attend specific courses without being candidates for a degree. Applications are reviewed by the Academic Board of the Department.
  • An academic record is maintained for each tuition paying exchange (non-degree) student, and the student’s work will be graded and recorded in accordance with the prevailing policies of the university.

Option 2: Research Opportunities 

We carry out research relating to the Peace and Conflict Studies. Researcher (who has PhD degree or PhD student) who wish to publish articles, notice, book, poster etc. will find many variety aspects to study while partnering with local communities around the globe. 

We encourage people who consider pursuing environmental field studies and research opportunities beyond the limitations of curriculum.

The final thesis takes the shape of a manuscript (article or monograph) that can be submitted to an international and national peer-reviewed journal or publisher. Applicants are not bound with specific subject for their research. 

Applicants are required to have PhD degree or a PhD student.

EXPECTED PROFILE 

All students, employers, diplomats, journalists, activist, peace officers, security officer, writer, researcher, trainers, UN staff, and government officers are welcomed to our programme.

For Non-Degree Students: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution or university.
  2. Bachelor’s transcript.
  3. Fluency in written and oral English. YDS (Yabanci Dil Sınavı- Language Exam) or TOEFL (IBT) or IELT Test scores are required for non-native English speakers. Minimum scores: 70 for YDS, 84 for TOEFL (IBT) and at least 6.5 average and 5.5 from each section for IELTS. If the national language or one of the national language is English, applicants are not required to submit language exam score. Validity period for TOEFL and IELTS exams are 2 years. (If is not written on it, YDS is valid for ever. 

For Research Opportunity: 

  1. PhD degree;
  2. Or PhD candidate;
  3. Or more than five years of relevant research experience
  4. Fluent in written and oral English

CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

  • Applicants do research for one term (fall or spring) or one year (two terms)
  • Applicants can take courses with master students
  • Applicants are free to design their working hours
