PROPOSED FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs (AIISA) is an independent research institute (www.aiisa.am), founded in 2014 and based in Yerevan, pursuing the goal of promoting independent foreign and domestic policy analysis for Armenia anchored in the shared values of human rights, political freedom and free market.

In partnership with NED, NATO and beyond that the Institute, its experts, associate fellows and partner experts permanently conduct and publish researches, analytical articles; provide interviews and commentaries on pressing domestic/international/regional issues and developments; convenes seminars, forums, briefings on them; hosts governmental officials in policy seminars, and convene 10-day democracy schools for young researchers, journalists, politicians and civic activists.

Within the framework of the Armenia-Turkey Fellowship Scheme, AIISA invites a fellow from Turkey to join the AIISA expert team and be part of all activities mentioned above, in particular to conduct research on topics of mutual interest.

The fellow will also be expected to translate relevant and interesting publications on Armenia, Armenia-Turkey relations and the Caucasus from Turkish into English, as well as contribute to the AIISA databases program on Turkey-Armenia relations.

EXPECTED PROFILE

  • Interested in and able to do analytical work or research;
  • Knowledge of analytical circles and institutions in Turkey;
  • Open-minded, with necessary skills of communication, able to work in team;
  • Good command of English

CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The fellow is expected to be at AIISA from Monday to Friday, from 9:00-18:00. Off days are – Saturdays and Sundays as well as public holidays of Armenia and Turkey. AIISA rarely convenes seminars or events on Saturdays, thus if needed the fellow will be asked to assist the AIISA team on Saturdays as well.
