Russian-Armenian University is one of the centers of transnational education in the South Caucasus, founded under the joint authority of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia in 1997. The University offers wide range of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs in more than 70 fields of studies. The University comprises of 5 Institutes: Institute of Law and Politics; Institute of Mathematics and High Technology; Institute of Economics and Business; Institute of Humanities; Institute of Media, Advertising and Cinema.

RAU has around 3000 students, 25-30% of which are foreign students, mainly coming from Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Greece, USA, Israel, etc. The university employs around 320 academic staff (FTE) and 180 administrative staff. The university has rapidly been undergoing through a process of internationalization of education for the last 5 years. Currently, the university has 158 partners from 36 countries. One of the internationalization directions is dedicated to the generation of academic flow of visiting lecturers and researchers to RAU. In this regard, the University is an excellent platform for visiting scholars to undertake their research and/or conduct lectures within the wide range of academic areas in collaboration with the prominent experts in Armenia, as well as in an open and intercultural environment of the University.

The Russian-Armenian University fellowship opportunity is offered to individuals interested in undertaking all or some of the following tasks: 

  • Conduct Turkish language classes for International Relations students with some basic knowledge of the language;
  • Conduct lectures and seminars on Turkish Foreign Policy, and/or Turkey-Armenia normalisation: obstacles and opportunities;
  • Organize and co-moderate round-table discussions on the Turkey-Armenia normalisation/;
  • Develop and implement the strategy on establishing collaboration with the Higher Education Institutes in Turkey;
  • Propose and implement other extra-curricular activities for students aimed at developing their critical thinking and analytical skills.

EXPECTED PROFILE 

  • Master’s degree in Social Science/Communication/Linguistics/Education
  • Working experience in the field of the higher education
  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and maintain a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work in a team as well as individually
  • Fluent knowledge of English and Turkish languages
  • Strong computer skills 

CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The academic year is divided into Fall Term (September-January) and Spring term (February-June). The fellow is expected to spend in the office 5 days per week (Monday-Friday). The fellowship activity hours may vary based on the fellow’s individual schedule designed in compliance with the corresponding department(s) of the University. The fellow will be provided with office space and internet access. Upon successful completion of the fellowship the incumbent fellow will be provided with a Letter of Reference.
