CNN Türk is a 24-hour news network founded in 1999 in partnership with Time Warner. It is the first news network that has been launched in partnership with a foreign media organization in Turkey. It broadcasts in Turkish and covers stories from inside and outside of Turkey. It works with major agencies in Turkey and abroad for news gathering. It has an integrated web of communication platforms including its website, mobile platforms and radio.
CNN Türk would like to host a visiting fellow from Armenia who can follow domestic developments and news in Turkey, report from the field, follow stories on the Armenian community in Turkey. We believe this experience will allow the visiting fellow to have a better understanding of what’s happening in Turkey and will also contribute to healthy news exchange between Turkey and Armenia.
EXPECTED PROFILE
Minimum 3, preferably 5 years of experience of reporting/editing in print/broadcast/online media. Some examples from previous reports will be attached.
- Affiliation with a broadcast/print media is a must so that the fellows reports from Turkey can also be aired/published in Armenia
- Good command of English
- Working command of Turkish
- Editing and narrating skills are assets
CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The visiting fellow is expected to be present at CNN Türk every weekday during his/her stay in Turkey. The visiting fellow should be ready to travel inside Turkey to follow the news.
The fellowship will be implemented in Istanbul, Turkey.

4 to 8 months between September 2017 and May 2018
