Caucasus Research Resource Center-Armenia (CRRC-Armenia) is a research institution established in 2003 as part of the CRRC network operating in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Developed through strong support provided upon over the past ten years by The Carnegie Corporation, Yerevan State University and the Eurasia Partnership Foundation, in 2013 CRRC-Armenia was registered as independent local foundation in Armenia. The goal of CRRC-Armenia remains strengthening social science research and public policy analysis. 

Committed to the academic and professional advancement, CRRC-Armenia believes that it’s all about people to reconcile and start dialogue. Having scholars engaged in common research will contribute to understanding of one another’s other’s positions, opinions and behaviours.

CRRC-Armenia is looking for a research fellow at any research topic related to the socio-economic implications for Armenia-Turkey relations or adjacent study will be chosen as a subject. 

As CRRC-Armenia conducts a wide range of surveys and generates tons of data, produces policy oriented analytical reports, we would propose the following activities and possibilities to the fellow:

  • Fellow's contribution to the analysis of any topic within the CRRC databases that are open to the research community and/or CRRC projects underway;
  • Fellow’s research agenda may include either a desk study or any other piece of research;
  • Fellows may arrive with their own research interest, or develop one in consultation with CRRC-Armenia research/program staff;
  • The framework and methodology can also be developed under CRRC-Armenia guidance, if needed.

 EXPECTED PROFILE  

  • Education: completed college course work (graduate students and/or faculty members are highly desired)
  • Professional background:  Experience of research in academia or media.
  • Language: English
  • Other:
    • be familiar with Microsoft programs (knowledge of statistical programs such as SPSS, Stata, etc. is desirable);
    • have well-developed communication, teamwork and organisational skills;
    • take initiative and work independently with little supervision;
    • be willing to share on their experience in home country.

Candidates who have their own research agenda will be given priority. 

CONDITIONS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

CRRC-Armenia will offer office space, resources, communication means, materials and a social network sufficient to carry out the proposed program/tasks. CRRC-Armenia will also assign a staff member to support and monitor the activities of the fellow throughout the fellowship. Usually, CRRC-Armenia fellows follow the same schedule as the core staff does, 9.00 to 18.00 from Monday to Friday, with one-hour lunch from 13.00 to 14.00. The holidays’ scheme fully applies to the fellows.

The fellowship will be implemented in Yerevan, Armenia.

PROPOSED TIME FOR THE FELLOWSHIP

CRRC-Armenia international fellowships normally last up to 10 weeks; however this scheme has a special importance for both countries. Therefore, CRRC-Armenia will host the incumbent fellow for at least 4 months between October 2017 and May 2018. Lengthier duration may be discussed depending on the research agenda.
