Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant continues to increase direct contacts and to promote cooperation between the peoples of the two neighbouring countries.

During February - April 2017 application period, Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant received a total of 93 applications from both countries. We are delighted to announce that in this round, the Hrant Dink Foundation will be offering support in the form of a travel grant to a total of 50 individuals 15 from Armenia, 35 from Turkey - for their visits to the neighbouring country with specific purpose and programme.

Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant 11th Round Grantees

Miyase Pelin Tunç and Aziz Küçük, cyclists from Istanbul, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for making a cycling tour in Armenia with the cyclists of Federation of Amateur Cycling and Cycle Tourism aiming to establish a multicultural cycling and solidarity network among cyclists. 

Merve Keskin, Hüsnü İslam Söğüt, Sena Saylam, Nur Cansu Yardımcı, Ahsen Eravcı and Yavuz Selim Yalçın from Istanbul, representatives of Boğaziçi University Center for European Studies Student Forum, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan and to interview KASA Foundation, UNHCR and Women’s Resource Center for analyzing the current situation of  Syrian migrant women in Armenia. 

Betül Dünda, poet/critic from Istanbul, Emel Kaya, poet/scholar at Eastern Mediterranean University from Istanbul, Ahmet Gökçenur Çelebioğlu, editor in chief, Selahattin Yolgiden and Efe Duyan, members of editorial board at Istanbul Offline Literature Magazine, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for attending a poetry translation workshop by Inknagir Literary Journal, which will bring together contemporary Turkish and Armenian poets for translating the works of participating poets and for learning about each other’s literary tradition and the contemporary context. 

Gizem Kıygı, İbrahim Özvarış, Başak İncekara, Fulya Kahveci, Çiğdem Furtuna from Istanbul, coordinators at Kent ve Çocuk, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for carrying out interviews and organizing a 3D model city playing workshop with children as part of their project ‘Collected spaces: Cities of the childhood and the memory’. 

Meryem Yavuz, Tayfur Aydın, Aslı Akdağ and Fırat Uran from Istanbul will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan and Yeghegnavan for meeting with the Armenian co-producer of their movie called “Border Disorder” and establishing networks for funding their films. 

Çağlar Solak, research assistant from Manisa Celal Bayar University, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan and Gyumri for making interviews for their academic research about both peoples’ attitudes towards each other with the help of Caucasus Research Resource Center-Armenia (CRRC).

Müge Olacak from Istanbul, Founding Director and performance artist of Atelier Muse, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for research and networking with culture and arts organisations and for the preparations of the upcoming concert in Yerevan organised by Music of Armenia.

Necib Varan from Istanbul, mental health coordinator and psychotherapist at SPoD - Social Politics Gender Identity & Sexual Orientation Research Association, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for establishing contacts with LGBTI and HIV/AIDS organisations in Armenia for future collaboration and exchange of experience. 

Taylan Şant Demirçivi from Istanbul, Member of Executive Committee of Dersim Hay-Der (The Foundation of Armenians from Dersim), will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for conducting oral history study about Armenians from Dersim who migrated after 1915, visit Armenian archives about Dersim and meet with Armenian researchers.

Vanuhi Malkhasyan from Vanadzor, Hasmik Tangyan and Sona Manukyan from Yerevan, members of BA-AR-DI-A Dance&Movement Laboratory will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Ankara for performing Ինչ կա-չկա (Inch ka-chka)/ Ne var ne yok at the Middle East Technical University Contemporary Dance Festival. 

Ciran Derya Aygül Öztürk, Sibel Çağlar and Deniz Kartal from Istanbul, editors at dünyalılar.org, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for getting in touch with nature sports groups and environmental right activists and to present Armenia to their followers in Turkey through their own observations and experiences as well as interviews and photos. 

Musa Tokmak from Ankara, project coordinator at Polatlı Duatepe Eğitim, Kültür, Sanat ve Gençlik Derneği, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for a feasibility meeting with “Creative Youth” NGO and “LAMEK” Youth NGO in order to develop an Erasmus+ project involving the two countries. 

Ira Voskanyan from Kapan, Tatevik Abrahamyan from Hrazdan, Yelena Sargsyan, Anahit Melkonyan, Edgar Sahakyan, Naira Nikoghosyan, Marta Asatryan, Lusine Sargsyan, Lilit Azizkhanyan and Lusine Pashayan from Yerevan, teachers from "Mkhitar Sebastatsi" Educational Complex, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for having meetings with the teachers and students of Bezciyan Armenian Elementary School, and other scientific-educational and cultural centres.

Mustafa Karadağ and Buyan Yağmur Memişoğulları from Istanbul, contemporary dance students at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for taking part in “ARé” performing arts festival with their Duvar/Wall performance, and for building artistic connections for future collaborations. 

Ozan Mert Balcı, Hamza Çınar and Ayşe Kavas from Izmir, representatives of TREX-EVS youth NGO, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for meeting with their partner “Armenian Progressive Youth” NGO and other organisations to build new partnerships and to organise a local youth gathering event. 

Hayk Hakobyan and Mayranush Davtyan human rights activists from Yerevan, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for attending educational workshops and trainings organised by SPoD NGO and share experiences of working for the well-being of the LGBTQI + community.
